About us

How it all began

My journey began back in early 2019, along with many other people we had been ‘recycling’ for years but were becoming more and more aware that recycling was not the answer. I was also becoming more and more frustrated with the amount of plastic there was everywhere.

I started too think very seriously about opening a zero waste shop, ideally in our local village, it needed a zero waste shop. Then as my monthly Country Living magazine came out at the beginning of August so did our inspiration… Yes I could do it…people did want it…. there in black and white (and colour) was the amazing article about ‘Earth, Food, Love’ The Zero Waste shop in Totnes, the push that we needed was right in front of us….

Meet Olive

Meeting us

Hi I am Laurraine, from a early age living in the new forest growing up with the local milkman , baker,  butchers and even taking our Corna glass bottle to the back off the pub for 5p, I feel I was very lucky to have experienced this, but sad that most of our children have no idea what this is like.

This is one of the many reasons I decided I wanted to do my bit for my local communities and give something back to make our children’s future a better place.

We fitted Olive out with reclaimed pallets, second hand items which has helped me save money as well as all these items not ending up in landfill.

My daughter Lilly is over the moon with this new venture and can not help enough with price comparisons and what is cool to have in Olive. Like a lot of teenagers, she is very aware and saddened by what is happening to her planet and her future!

We will be having regular stops each month at local markets, and car parks. We will also be having a click and collect service from our HQ in Creekmoor. We look forward to meeting you all and helping you in your zero waste journey.
